Reading Hockey Club

I have no hesitation in recommending Neil Boddington, Boddingtons Planning Ltd.

Reading Hockey Club has employed Neil on a regular basis over more than 20 years, both on planning matters and constructing our two artificial hockey pitches.

Most recently we constructed our second pitch last year. Neil ran a smooth process which achieved all its milestones and objectives, including construction of the pitch in double quick time ahead of the winter weather. He developed a detailed specification to our requirements, ran an efficient tender process, appointed the contractor and negotiated the contract, and then managed the contractor though construction. The process was complicated in as much the new pitch was built on land leased from a neighbouring sports club that required clearance of our plans and maintenance of good relations throughout construction which Neil achieved.

Neil brings to the table his experience as a top hockey player and a coach which he combines with his professional experience as a planner. Over many years he has built up an invaluable pool of experience and expertise in artificial pitches which we have found invaluable in ensuring that key details in design, construction and future operation are properly considered. He also has an in depth knowledge of the multiple surfaces now available, an excellent understanding of the capabilities of the contractors operating in the market and we observed that he has a close working relationship with McArdles who were the contractor.
